Where it hurts

Before, after.

  • TodayI enter the same thing three times: the POS, the rota, then the folder for the accountant.

With PrivateCoreOne database, on your own machine. The settled ticket feeds the accounting journal, clocked hours feed payroll, stock is drawn down at the recipe. Nothing to re-key from one tool into another.

  • TodayThe food-safety inspector walks in and I go looking for the temperature log sitting on top of the fridge.

With PrivateCoreReadings are entered on the iPad or pushed by a connected probe through the API, timestamped and kept five years. The inspection export takes two clicks, with the curves, the cleaning plans and the signatures.

  • TodayThe starter leaves with the main course, and the table waits twenty minutes in between.

With PrivateCoreOrders are taken by course. The server fires the starters, then the mains once the table is ready: one docket per course in the kitchen instead of one docket per item.

  • TodayThe night the internet drops, the POS is dead and we take payment on a notepad.

With PrivateCoreOn a Mac mini, the server runs inside the restaurant, not in a data centre. Cut the internet: floor, kitchen and payment carry on. What is missing is the link outward, not the software.

4 more pains we cure
  • TodayI have no idea what a plate actually costs me.

With PrivateCoreFood cost is computed per recipe from real purchase prices: ingredient cost, margin, suggested price. The day butter goes up, the dishes concerned surface on their own.

  • TodayEat-in, takeaway, alcohol: my accountant patches up the VAT every quarter.

With PrivateCoreEvery product carries its rate, and the sale mode alone never settles it: 10% eat-in and takeaway alike, 5.5% only for products that keep and leave sealed (sealed can, bread, pastry, yoghurt), 20% on alcohol. The per-rate breakdown appears on the bill and lands correct in the FEC.

  • TodayI build the rota on Sunday night, and the first sick day breaks it.

With PrivateCoreThe rota knows contracts, days off and approved leave. A replacement is proposed among the staff who are available and not into overtime, and the change reaches the employee without you calling the floor.

  • TodayElectronic invoicing in 2026? I will deal with it when it becomes mandatory.

With PrivateCoreInvoices already come out as Factur-X, with the structured data attached to the PDF. On the day the mandate lands you will have nothing to install and no software to change in a hurry.

The math

What it replaces, and what it costs.

Based on a 12-employee restaurant. The 7 subscriptions below, brought together in one tool.

Your stack today€819
PrivateCore · RestoCore€213

Per month, excluding VAT, market subscriptions taken from their public pages.

What the plan covers

  • Team scheduling Skello orCombo · Snapshift · Planday · Factorial
  • NF525 POS Lightspeed orL'Addition · Popina · Tiller · SumUp
  • Accounting & FEC Pennylane orTiime · Indy · Sage · Cegid
  • Restaurant management Zelty orInnovorder · Trivec · Cashpad

  • Client CRM HubSpot Pro orSalesforce · Zoho CRM · Pipedrive · Sellsy
  • HACCP & traceability e-Pack Hygiène orOctopus HACCP · Traqfood · Vericook

And what the usual stack does not cover: Native connectors · Factur-X & Chorus Pro

Public prices as of August and September 2026, entry-level plans, options excluded. The vendors' prices change: check their sites.

The gap

What we centralise, and they do not.

  • How many subscriptions

The usual stackA POS, a scheduling tool, a food-cost tool, a loyalty platform, an accounting portal: five contracts, five passwords, five people to call when something fails to come through.

PrivateCoreOne contract and one screen. The modules of the trade are configured together, and what leaves the POS arrives in payroll and accounting with no bridge to buy.

  • Where your data lives

The usual stackOn the vendor's servers. Your tickets, your customers and your margins sit with a third party, in a country you do not pick.

PrivateCoreOn a machine sitting in your own premises. The database is yours, it is backed up at your place, and nobody else reads it.

  • When the internet drops

The usual stackThe app lives in the browser: no network, no POS. You take payment on paper and re-key it later.

PrivateCoreOn a Mac mini, service carries on locally, floor and kitchen included. Whatever has to reach the outside world leaves on its own once the network is back.

3 more differences
  • What it costs you when you have a good season

The usual stackA percentage of revenue, a fee per terminal, a surcharge per user: the harder you work, the higher the bill.

PrivateCoreA subscription that does not look at your turnover. On payment, you keep your bank, or you move onto ours if the rate is better: optional, and reversible.

  • What a POS does not cover

The usual stackPayroll, social filings, contracts, accounting and electronic invoicing fall outside the scope: other software, other exports, other re-keying.

PrivateCorePayslips and filings, staff registers, FEC and Factur-X live in the same tool as the POS, fed by the same hours and the same tickets.

  • Artificial intelligence

The usual stackYour sales and your customers are shipped to an AI vendor to produce a forecast or a marketing text.

PrivateCoreThe model runs on your machine. Covers forecasting, menu assistance, review replies: nothing used to produce them leaves the premises.

FAQ

What we get asked.

How many covers a day can PrivateCore handle?

No software limit: the number of covers is not part of the price. An entry-level Mac mini runs a neighbourhood restaurant; for a very high-volume venue or several sites, we recommend a Mac Studio at installation.

Compatible with my existing fridge probe?

Readings are entered on the iPad in two taps, and a connected probe can push them straight through the API. No brand is imposed: we look at yours at onboarding.

Will my NF525 receipt printer work?

Any ESC/POS printer over the network or USB, the standard behind Epson TM and Star TSP models: tested at onboarding.

Does the kitchen KDS run on iPad?

Yes, iPad mini or wall-mounted iPad Pro. Display per station (hot / cold / dessert) with a timer, an alert when cooking time is exceeded, grouping by table. A separate bar screen receives the drinks.

Do guests order themselves with the QR code?

Your call, table by table: either the QR opens the menu in view-only mode and the server takes the order, or the guest orders directly and the ticket goes straight to the kitchen. Both modes coexist in the same dining room.

Is the menu translated for foreign guests?

Yes. The online menu is multilingual: it displays in the language of the guest’s phone (photos, descriptions and allergens included). You write it in French, translations are generated and stay editable.

And restaurant VAT compliance (5.5 / 10 / 20)?

Each product has its VAT code. Eat-in, everything is 10%, alcohol 20%. Takeaway, it is 10% as well for whatever is eaten straight away, and 5.5% only for what keeps: sealed can or bottle, bread, pastry, yoghurt, fruit, packaged deli dish. The sale mode alone never sets the rate. Correct VAT breakdown in the FEC.

Migrating from Tiller / Zelty / Lightspeed?

Native imports: catalogue, floor plan, revenue history, loyalty. The full process runs over a 30-day dual-write window: your old POS and PrivateCore record in parallel until you're confident.
