The software
Three screens, taken from the application.
- Stock Stock
One single stock: the shop and the website read the same line at the same time.
- Register Register
Fast checkout: barcode scanner, scale, card payment on the iPhone.
- Online store Site & marketing
The online store, served by the very same catalogue as the shop’s register.

Where it hurts
Before, after.
-
TodayThe tax inspector asks for the till detail, and I have to prove that no receipt was ever deleted.
With PrivateCoreEvery sale is sealed into a chained journal: a receipt cannot be edited, cannot be deleted, and the next one carries the fingerprint of the one before. Perpetual grand total, numbered Z reports, monthly and yearly closings, and a signed fiscal archive that can be re-verified offline.
-
TodayI count the aisles on Sunday, and I still do not know what walked out without going through the till.
With PrivateCoreA stocktake freezes the theoretical stock, is counted by scan, and reports the gap in value. Shrinkage and surplus are counted separately, so that an overstocked aisle cannot cancel out regular theft. Once approved, stock lines up with what was counted.
-
TodayI order by eye, and I run out of the very things that sell.
With PrivateCoreEvery reference carries its threshold and its target quantity. The reorder proposal comes out grouped by supplier, with the cost of the order, before you approve anything.
-
TodayThe delivery note ends up in the stockroom, and the purchase price stays in the manager’s head.
With PrivateCoreA goods receipt is entered as a draft and does not touch stock. On approval, it applies quantities, purchase prices and expiry dates in one go. Margin per aisle is then computed on those prices, not on an estimate.
4 more pains we cure
-
TodayAt the till we argue about what meal vouchers can pay for, and we settle it on the customer’s face.
With PrivateCoreEligibility is computed product by product before the sale is taken: the share of the basket payable in vouchers, the daily cap, the accepted schemes. The salesperson reads an amount instead of guessing it.
-
TodayOne return at the counter, and the day’s total no longer matches the journal.
With PrivateCoreThe return is written as a sealed negative receipt in the same journal, stock goes back on the shelf, and the store credit handed to the customer is found again by its code on their next visit.
-
TodayMy loyalty scheme is a stamp card that customers lose every other time.
With PrivateCoreThe customer card is a code they carry with them. Scanned along with the amount, it credits points; points are then spent as a means of payment, with the maximum share payable in points and the minimum to be settled in cash set in your own programme.
-
TodayElectronic invoicing? I will deal with it when it becomes mandatory.
With PrivateCoreInvoices already come out as Factur-X, with the structured data attached to the PDF. The software refuses to issue a plain PDF that would look compliant without being so, and incoming supplier invoices have their inbox in the same tool.

And what the usual stack does not cover: Unified in-store + web stock
Public prices as of August and September 2026, entry-level plans, options excluded. The vendors' prices change: check their sites.
The gap
What we centralise, and they do not.
-
How many subscriptions
The usual stackA till, a stock tool, a purchasing tool, a loyalty platform, an online shop: that many contracts, and that many people to call the day a figure fails to come through.
PrivateCoreOne contract and one database. The catalogue, the thresholds, the purchase prices and the sales are read by the same screens, with no bridge to buy between two vendors.
-
Where your data lives
The usual stackOn the vendor's servers. Your receipts, your customers, your purchase prices and your margins sit with a third party, in a country you do not pick.
PrivateCoreOn a machine sitting in the shop. The database is yours, it is backed up at your place, and nobody else reads it.
-
When the internet drops
The usual stackThe app lives in the browser: no network, no till. You take payment on a notepad and re-key it the next day.
PrivateCoreOn a Mac mini, the server runs inside the shop, not in a data centre. Cut the internet: the till, the scanner and stock carry on. What is missing is the link outward, not the software.
3 more differences
-
What it costs you when the season is good
The usual stackA percentage of revenue, a fee per till, a surcharge per salesperson: the more you sell, the higher the bill.
PrivateCoreA subscription that counts neither your tills nor your sales. On payment, you keep your bank, or you move onto ours if the rate is better: your call, and reversible.
-
What a till does not cover
The usual stackStock, suppliers, stocktakes, payroll and electronic invoicing are sold separately: other software, other exports, other re-keying.
PrivateCoreSame references, same purchase prices, same receipts. Stocktakes, goods receipts, payslips, the FEC and Factur-X come out of the tool that already runs the till.
-
What till compliance is actually worth
The usual stackA logo on a brochure, and a certificate the vendor emails you without ever looking at your data.
PrivateCoreThe attestation is produced by your own instance, after checking the receipt chain at the moment you ask for it. The fiscal archive is signed and can be re-verified offline, years later.
FAQ
What we get asked.
Difference vs Shopify?
No €29/mo Shopify, no Shopify Payments commission (but Stripe keeps ~1.4% in the EU), your stock and your customers stay in your Mac Mini, no Canada hosting.
Compatible with my existing barcodes?
EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, Code 128 recognised. A generic Bluetooth or USB HID scanner works. Bulk barcode import via CSV.
And the multi-vendor marketplace?
Stripe Connect Express handles multi-vendor payments with an automatic split. You take a configurable commission, the vendor receives their transfer directly.
Migrating from Shopify or WooCommerce?
Native import of catalogue, customers, orders, loyalty. Stock counters recomputed. Runs over a 30-day dual-write window: both systems write in parallel until you cut over.
EU VAT handling for online sales?
Built-in EU IOSS / OSS module: VAT based on the customer's country, quarterly OSS return pre-filled for your accountant.
Several physical shops + 1 website, does it work?
Yes: that's the Multi-sites use case. Each shop has its own till, stock and team; the website centralises. P&L consolidation per shop in the reporting module.
Do you accept meal vouchers and holiday vouchers?
Yes, at the till, with eligibility managed product by product: food items go through, alcohol and non-food are refused automatically. Remittance slips for the issuers are generated and the receivable is tracked in the accounts until the transfer arrives.
What if the internet goes down on a Saturday afternoon?
The till runs locally on your Mac Mini: sales, receipts and stock keep working without the cloud. Only card payments need a connection (Stripe); cash, vouchers and store credits remain available, and everything syncs once the network is back.
